2009 News

March 2009

Craig Mental Health is pleased to announce that they have received $25,000 from Moffat County United Way for the upcoming funding year. This funding is used to subsidize therapy and psychiatric care for the indigent population.  These people do not qualify for any other funding source and would not be able to access mental health services otherwise. The Moffat County United Way has been funding this program for the past several years, and with this year's funding, we look forward to serving more clients than ever before.  We greatly appreciate the support of United Way and our community

April 2009

Craig Mental Health has been awarded $8,000 by the HRC for the upcoming funding year.  This money will be used to offset the costs of substance abuse services for those clients with no other funding options; specifically adults with no children, no or low income, and who do not qualify for Medicaid. This amount of funding can help 7 adults receive treatment in our Enhanced Outpatient program, or up to 22 adults in weekly Recovery or other group. A combination of services will be provided based on individual needs of our clients.

We have also received a $1,000 grant from El Pomar Youth in Community Service (EPYCS), which will supplement our Women's Recovery Group and Drug Endangered Children's Group in the coming year.

October 2009

During the past two months Colorado West Mental Health has been making a lot of changes designed to increase access to our consumers and do a better job of engaging them in treatment. These changes are part of our year-long participation in an Access & Engagement project which involves 10 mental health centers from around the country.

We are very excited about our new practices, some of which include same day access for clients, a drastic decrease in our intake paperwork, a brand new no show and cancellation policy, our new benefit coverage plans for clients who fall below the sliding fee scale, the upcoming implementation of a Level of Care treatment model, and an increased effort to train more Peer Specialists.

Craig Mental Health also recently spruced up the office a bit with new paint and pictures, and we are now looking for donations of good quality furniture for the waiting area as well as some of the individual clinician offices.

November 2009

Believe it or not, we are well into fall (with winter putting in an appearance every so often!) and the holidays are right around the corner.  For information about dealing with holiday stress, visit our page Holiday and Event Stress.
