Drug Endangered Children

Based on need and demand, we sometimes offer a group for children whose lives have been impacted by the substance abuse of someone close to them.  Research shows that early intervention with these kids helps prevent their own substance abuse later on, as well as other types of behavior and emotional problems. Workbooks, games, activities, play and art therapy are all utilized to make this a fun yet productive group for kids.  The group is structured around the average age of the participants but is generally geared toward elementary age children.

We have been fortunate int he past to offer this group in conjunction with the Women's Recovery Group, allowing mom's and kids to get treatment simultaneously.  Please ask your clinician whether this option is currently available.
